Frankfurt Then?
Frankfurt Museum of History
Nestled within the reconstructed historical center of Frankfurt, the remarkably modern new city museum opened after 10 years of planning and construction. Content-wise the museum defines itself as a forum for all of the city’s history with an ongoing view at the present. It houses six permanent and two temporary exhibitions and stretches across a sweeping 6,000 square meters of exhibition space. The staging displays a mere 4,000 objects (out of a collection of half a million!) and offers the visitor a variety of perspectives regarding the grand overall theme – the city of Frankfurt then and now.
